This delightful plot on the Trent and Mersey canal in Cheshire currently has planning permission for a house, but the clients wanted something much more contemporary and low energy. The resulting two storey gable ended house and garage picks up on the local brick and uses traditional materials but in a contemporary way. The smaller garage is linked to the main house by a double height glazed stair well. This will be a timber frame house built on Passiv- Haus principles requiring very little energy to run.
