The impact of buildings on the environment is at the heart the practice and the principles of sustainable design will be considered in all of our work.

Carolyn in particular has a wealth of experience having led her previous two practices forward in this respect. Both partners have helped delivered projects to BREEAM Excellent and Code for Sustainable Homes level 4. Carolyn was presented with the Sustainability Award by Women in Construction to mark her work in this area.

The practice will embody sustainable design in all that we undertake and we will advise our clients of just what can be achieved from the outset, often for little if no additional cost.

The fundamental principles of good sustainable design include considering the impact of the site and immediate environment, insulating well and reducing air leakage to a minimum. This, together with the use of natural daylight and ventilation (when appropriate), will ensure energy demand is minimised.

The practice has signed up to the Sustainable Development Charter of Wales, is a member of the Green Register and is currently working towards the Green Mark.
