In the spring of 2014 we started Downs Merrifield architects, having recently completed the design and construction management of our own contemporary house. Using this as an example of our abilities, we brought our combined 50 years of experience to the residential market and it is immensely gratifying to celebrate our tenth successful year in this venture.

We have been fortunate to work for some amazing clients whose belief in our capabilities has been hugely rewarding. With over one hundred completed projects, we now have Downs Merrifield homes all over Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, Monmouthshire, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Gwynedd in Wales, as well as Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Cheshire, the Isle of Skye and even Tbilisi in Georgia.

Our appetite for contemporary, creative architecture is undiminished, so as we celebrate this milestone, we continue to explore opportunities to design new environmentally friendly dwellings, significant extensions and the retrofitting and reimagining of older properties to meet current and projected standards.

Rob Boltman has decided to focus on his next career in the IT sector and has now left the practice. We really appreciate his fantastic contribution to the practice during his eight-year stint and his legacy with us is self evident within our portfolio.

Going forward, Nic, Carolyn and Kalina form a dynamic team capable of successfully delivering projects in value upwards from £150,000 and we look forward to serving our current and future clients for many years to come.
